StudySpell is a spelling-practice app built to make practice short, fun, and genuinely effective — the opposite of copying words ten times in a notebook.
Why we built it
Most spelling practice is a grind: a worksheet, a sigh, and the same words misspelled the next week. We thought it could be better. Spelling sticks when a child hears a word and spells it from memory, gets feedback right away, and actually wants to come back tomorrow.
So we built StudySpell around that idea — short "hear it, spell it" sessions, instant feedback, and a little game-style motivation so kids stay with it long enough to improve.
How it works
Each word is read aloud, your child types what they hear, and they get instant feedback with a celebration for getting it right. The same word list powers practice games, a daily puzzle, XP and streaks, and a reward store you control — so practice feels like play, not homework.
Who it's for
StudySpell is made for parents and teachers of kids in roughly kindergarten through 8th grade — including kids who find spelling hard, get bored fast, or dread practice. Every child practices at their own level, and you can set up a profile for each one.
